Wine Class Dinners

frequently asked questions

  • If you know this is an event you would really like to attend, we recommend purchasing your tickets as close to the time they go live as possible. We have had classes sell out anywhere between 30 minutes to one hour, or a few days or a week. The time a class takes to sell out often depends on the themes and time of year, and it’s hard to predict just how quickly a class will sell out.

PLEASE NOTE- we will be taking about 4 less registrations in 2024 to allow for a little more space in our room at Sergeantsville Inn.

Sign up for our in-person classes email list so you don’t miss registration details for upcoming classes!

  • In our room upstairs at Sergeantsville Inn, you will be seated among other attendees. You are guaranteed to be seated with any/all the people you purchased tickets for. If you purchased 3 or fewer tickets, you can expect to be seated with other patrons, and seating will be thoughtfully assigned by us unless you notify us of a separate party you are intending to attend with. This is a great way to meet fellow wine enthusiasts!

If there are people you intend to attend the class with, but did not purchase tickets for the whole party in one transaction, there will be an opportunity to mention the people you would like to sit with in a form you will receive a few weeks after registering. We will do our best to seat you with the other guests that are attending.

  • You can expect these classes to begin promptly at 7pm, and conclude around 9:15pm.

  • If you are unable to purchase tickets live at the time they go on sale, we highly suggest having someone else purchase them for you! ***If they purchase tickets with their own form of payment, they can fill out the form sent afterward and make us aware that they are intended for you, or you may email us giving us a heads up that your tickets will be purchased under another name. We will adjust everything on our end to ensure the tickets are in your name and that you will be the one we contact with details leading up to the class.

This is a request we get frequently, and given the high demand of these classes, we cannot take any reservations or payment before our published time of sale in order to be fair to all in our community.

Please reach out to our Director of Marketing, Angelica (blickenderfera@gmail.com) if you have any questions about this.

  • Yes! Sergeantsville Inn has their own bottle shop, The Ice House, located in the same building. We source all the wines for these classes through them, and you will be able to purchase the wines with them following the class.

  • Sergeantsville Inn does a beautiful job curating expert pairings for each of our classes. They specialize in local, seasonal food, and the pairings for these classes reflect that.

Every class consists of three courses and fresh bread to start. From the first course you can expect something light like fish or seafood (or maybe a seasonal soup or salad if you do not eat seafood). In the second course you can expect a bolder meat dish like beef, lamb, duck or pork (and a heartier meat-free dish if you do not eat meat). The third course is typically a beautifully unique, composed cheese course, that will feature a serving of cheese with expertly paired accompaniments to elevate the cheese and make it a “dish” rather than a traditional cheese board. There may be class themes that lend itself to a traditional dessert, but typically our final course is a cheese course.

The portions are what one would expect from a higher end restaurant, on the smaller side. However, we aim for you to end the class with your appetite satisfied!

  • The Sergeantsville Inn will accommodate any food allergies or dietary restrictions you have. You will receive an email a couple weeks after registering with the opportunity to let us know about any allergies or dietary restrictions you have, and we will relay that information to the Sergeantsville Inn.

  • Yes, it is included! You will not have to tip the restaurant staff at the time of this event; that will have been taken care of in your ticket purchase.

  • At this time, we accommodate up to 28 people in tables of 4-6 people.

Please refer to the question about seating assignments if you are curious about that!

  • We understand that things come up, and you may need to relinquish your seat. We are able to refund your seat(s) up to 72 hours before the class.

  • If your questions are not addressed here, please contact us (The Educated Grape) by emailing our Director of Marketing, Angelica, at blickenderfera@gmail.com

We will be able to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have!
